RTP and House Edge Explained
RTP, or Return to Player, is a theoretical measure that shows what percentage of total bets a game will return to players over the long run. For example, a 96% RTP means an average of ৳96 comes back for every ৳100 wagered. Keep in mind, this is an average across thousands of rounds — results in a single session can vary.
Different types of games generally show different RTP ranges. Slot games typically have an RTP of 92% to 98%, though this varies significantly from game to game. In blackjack, using the correct strategy can bring the RTP close to 99%. Roulette generally has an RTP of 94% to 97%, with European roulette at the higher end.
House edge is the flip side of RTP. A 96% RTP means a 4% house edge — this is the casino's long-term mathematical advantage. The lower the house edge, the more favorable it is for the player. Knowing the RTP of a game before you choose to play helps you make a more informed decision.
Volatility, or variance, is another important factor. High-volatility games pay out less often but offer larger rewards; low-volatility games pay out smaller wins more frequently. Choose a game based on your budget and playing style.
Typical RTP Ranges
RTP values are theoretical and represent long-term averages. Results in a single session can vary.
